It would seem the forging bad chips has become a really industry in China. Is the TL866 able to test the 4116? I didn‘t see this in the manual or in the chip-list. I have a TL866. +dhe
I don't know about that one, I used it to check a 8K static ram. Unfortunately my TL866 is at work - far far away...

Advice: Turning the rotary potentiometer in the PHA2037 more to the left sets the color saturation higher. Before you do anything, make photos to see how it looked before. But I will try some other configurations in the Next days. I have a PHA 2037 (RGB Modulator) too and I bought a line doubler OSSC from https://videogameperfection.com/products/open-source-scan-converter/ So I have some possibilities. The best will be a FA18A mk2, when it is available. I agree, After lots of tests with different monitors and video converters the solution for me has been to use the PHA 2036. Here are the steps: 1) Luminance signal thorugh VGA converter on LCD monitor 2) Components cable on LCD monitor 3) Components to VGA converter on TRC monitor 4) Internal components to RGB converter 5) PHA 2036 on LCD monitor I'm really surprised of the quality image obtained with only the RF modulator, it seems composite video instead. Thank you @Flottmann1 ? Next step will be to open the PHA2036 and try to get the video signal before the modulator and see what happens. I hope to have a little bit better quality. We will see...
Papalapa
The best solution: composite video. I thought it would just be soldering an RCA to the video signal before to enter into the modulator as happens with the ZX-Spectrum but the PHA 2036 that I have is the one with a plastic case, not a metallic one and it has been a little more entertaining. Basically I have installed an adapter circuit and now I already have composite video. Without obviously becoming RGB signal, the change from RF to composite is noticeable. wolhess
Hi, My beige TI console is broken, No Power and the 0.200A fuse in the transformer is also broken. I replaced the transformer but immediately the second transformers fuse is broken. I think the power supply board is defective. So my question is, can I replace the power supply board of the beige console with a power supply board from a silver/black console? Here are the pictures of the both power supplies: The PS of the beige console: The PS of the black/silver console:

As far as I can recall, the outputs are the same. However, the linear P/S(the one with, the 1 big capacitor)requires a CT(off-center taped) transformer.

GDMike
My console was shorting transformers last year and I found out that the metal contact on the side port was touching something. After pushing that copper plate in and fixed my problem. I think my speech connected wrong at one point.
