+DrTypo
Here is a new mini-game, Tube2020, the long awaited sequel to Tube SE. It's very simple: They are after you. Go as fast as you can, avoid hitting the walls. Green arrows boost your speed, but you have to release the accelerator. Red squares slows you down and remove your control. They are usually at the end of a track. If you see those before the end, you better be fast enough or it's game over. Yellow squares marks the end of a track. In the menu, select a track by pressing "1" to "9" key on the numpad. You can switch gravity by pressing left or right. You can switch invert-y by pressing left or right. Select an option by pressing up or down. Press B to start. With gravity enabled, you can run on the bottom track without slowing down. Controls: d-pad to move (y-axis is inverted by default) button A to accelerate button C to brake option to toggle the music on/off press * and # to quit a track This is the final version. The game is playable in Virtual Jaguar, it's just the sound that is a bit glitchy at times. You can upload the game to your Jaguar using a Skunkboard, BJL, JaguarCD or JaguarGD... tube2020_rc1.zip Edited May 20, 2020 by DrTypo final version 17

+DrTypo
I added a new version with gravity. I kept the previous version without gravity so that you can compare. Personnaly I prefer the version with gravity, even if the physic is not 100% correct. Let me know what you think!

I don't like the gravity, but it would be nice to have it as an option, either from the title screen or an option menu in-game.

You're messing with 3D now? Cool. How about G-shading? I haven't had a chance to look at this. Skunk is packed up.
+DrTypo
@JagChris Yes, I used 3D for Tube2020. It is very limited (only moves in x,y,z not rotations), which allowed to take all kind of shortcuts. The Jag can do gouraud shading without much performance issue (I think) but I will experiment with this later, not on Tube2020. @KevinMos3 OK I'll add an option in the title screen for gravity! +cubanismo
Love it. My four-year-old daughter says it looks like the desert version of Tube SE ? Curious: Did you write the 3D code from scratch, or leverage the sample 3D code from the Atari dev kit, or some other source? I've been trying to get the 3D demo from Atari working (So far that means compiling it and seeing that it fails), so just curious. Suggestion: An option to invert the up/down controls might be nice. I prefer it as-is, but my daughter was confused when up went down, down went up.
+DrTypo
@UHATEIT It is close to the final version. I will add a few more tracks and the option cubanismo suggested. @cubanismo Glad that you and your daughter like it! I wrote the 3D code from scratch. It is a very limited 3D code so I could skip a lot of things that are usually done in 3D. Good suggestion! I will add an invert-y option.
KevinMos3
What am I missing on level 3 (Gama)? I just get started and get stopped by the red blocks and sent back to the title screen. Edit: Actually, it's any time I run into red blocks. Edited May 9, 2020 by KevinMos3
+DrTypo
@KevinMos3 Yes, the red block slow you down and if you are stopped, it's game over. You have to be fast enough to pass them. The green block speeds you up, providing you release the accelerator: don't push button A when you pass green blocks.

I can't seem to get past them no matter what though. I can only go so fast unless there's a way to speed up more than I know about. I understand the green blocks, but by the time I reach red blocks I'm at max normal speed.
