Randy
I just saw a video about a 520 STe and it shows a SCSI port on it, did the STe line come with SCSI instead of ASCI? And can that port be used directly with SCSI devices? Thanks!
snarkdluG
Nope. Normal STe didn't have SCSI. But it have ACSI. But you can't connect a SCSI HDD directly to that. You need a adapter for it.
snarkdluG
Or was it a Mega STe?
Randy
Nope, the video clearly shows and states a 520 STe with a SCSI connection on the back in place of the more typical ACSI. This was a youtube shot in the UK, so perhaps the UK version or?
snarkdluG
Nope. Falcon has SCSI in the back though. But no STe has it from factory. Maybe someone hacked one in? Do you have YT link? I'm really curious now.
ParanoidLittleMan
SCSI connector has more pins than ACSI, so can not use ACSI connector of ST, STE for that. And there is no space for bigger connector there. I think that it's just another shallow video. And to add - don't think that SCSI is interesting anymore. Unless someone has still working drives and space, PSU for it.

Christos
I am curious as to where you see the SCSI port. If you pose at 10:41 you'll clearly see the 19-pin ACSI port.
ParanoidLittleMan
I looked video. At about 10m 00s he points on ACSI port, and says only 'external hard disk ..' . So, where was SCSI mentioned at all ? Btw. best part of it is at 16m 20s - presenting 'some' SW for dealing with Atari floppies on PC ?
zzip
I've actually watched that video before funnily enough :) He mistakenly says the hard disk port is a new addition with the STe, maybe that's where the confusion comes from? it's the same ACSI port all STs have. Randy
Ah, that's right, I see that is the mistake, thanks!
