VidGeek Posted July 28, 2020 Share Posted July 28, 2020 I ran into an issue with my Sega CD model 2 recently in where it will power up but it only displays the static background (earth and the moon) but does not bring up the sega logo or play music anymore. I was using it with my Mega SG for the past year without issue. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I'm assuming I'll need to get it repaired but was hoping it's something I'm overlooking. Also, I haven't tried it with my model 1 or model 2 genesis since this has happened to determine if issue is only with the analogue mega sg. Thanks for any info. nick3092 Posted August 21, 2020 Share Posted August 21, 2020 Make sure the expansion cleaner is nice and clean on the genesis. I had a sega cd unit that worked fine on my model 2, but did all kinds of weird stuff on my model 1 (or vice versa, don't recall now).
