The SYSCHECK 2.2 mentioned isn't just a diagnostic device, it also includes a RAMBO type 512kB external RAM upgrade and the choice of 4 OS's that are flashable.

Yes I realized that after I ordered it. That is great news.

I got a uav this week so going to try my hand at putting that in my 800xl. I am trying to get a readable dt-80 column display on my tv. I know it won’t be perfect but just hoping it will clean it up just enough that I can use it when I boot into cp/m.

For good 80 columns, Y/C is a must - composite video just won't do.  A couple things you can do to help.  Either turn the colour all the way down, or depending on your cable, only run the luma signal.
