+dhe
Below, is a picture from 99er.net of a TI-99 in handheld form. Has anyone done a TI-99 handheld lately that they like?
ti99iuc
I Liked a lot the one done by @tmop69 and published here: http://www.ti99iuc.it/web/index.php?pageid=homepage&artid=203
ti99iuc
also liked the TI99 emulator on old android smarthphones http://www.ti99iuc.it/web/index.php?pagina=articoli&artid=
Asmusr
https://js99er.net works quite well on a phone, but you need tiny fingers to access the keyboard.
RickyDean
I have several Asus and Hp Slate windows tablets and have used several emulators, win99, classic99, and others to some extent. Especially when I worked overseas and was flying in and out.
wierd_w
I can't really vouch for it at this time... (I DO have a CFW PSP, but have not tried it.) https://www.brewology.com/downloads/download.php?id=7464&mcid=1 But there exists a TI99 emulator for that handheld. As long as you have some way to just autoload diskette images, it should work fine I would think.
+dhe
how is keyboard and joystick input on these devices?
wierd_w
Well... The PSP has a gamepad. Keyboard input is.. Let's not discuss that. I really should install that old version of TI99Sim and see how it runs.
RickyDean
I had the emulator too on psp. Sadly that stuff is misplaced at the moment, though I'd like to try it on my hacked Vita. Also had it on my GP2X. Edited October 26, 2020 by RickyDean add content.
+Torrax
Took a couple of quick pics of my PSP-CFW running the TI99SIM emulator. Hard to get clean pics with the cheap Wal-Mart LED lightbulb --- had to turn the flash off to avoid the nasty reflections. +Torrax
Uggh!!! Noticed I got part of my foot in the first pic and a partial reflection of me in the second. Sorry about that folks!!
+OLD CS1
@Torrax No worries, I thought maybe you were one of those eBay exhibitionists.
+Torrax
Once more PSP-CFW running TI99Sim. Pictures taken during the day and exhibitionist free. The left d-pad and j-pad are worn out in the downward directions making menu navigation hard.
+dhe
can you press a button and pull up a keyboard, or use a bluetooth keyboard?
+Torrax
Very limited keyboard support. The default mappings are: circle "1"; square "2"; triangle "Enter"; and X "Fire". You can edit/load different mappings for the various buttons and cycle through them with the shoulder buttons. This emulator seems to be more oriented for playing cartridge based games. I think the docs mentioned some sort of support for I/R keyboards. It's been about 7/8 years since I last messed around with my PSP.
RickyDean
1 hour ago, dhe said: can you press a button and pull up a keyboard, or use a bluetooth keyboard? The only Bluetooth Psp's are the psp Go and the Psp vita. I think it is possible to pair with a keyboard, don't know if there is keyboard support built in. Never tried. Would have to search though my burned cd's, dvd's, and hard drives to get the emulation software up and running to find out. Have all my Psp's set up for cfw, but since 2013 haven't touched them much. The Go and Vita are recent additions, circa 2018.
