carlsson
So in case anyone has missed out on one of the latest TikTok (and YouTube) trends, here my Intellivision version of the New Zealand ballad Soon May the Wellerman Come (often wrongly referred to as a sea shanty). It is thought to have been penned around 1860-1870, rediscovered in the mid-late 1960's and recorded a handful of times, most recently by The Longest Johns. Then suddenly in December 2020 it became a viral trend and now is nearly everywhere. Quite catchy little tune as well. Feel free to use it, anyone who can benefit from some short IntyBASIC music. wellerman.rom wellerman.bas

First Spear
Well done! That needs to go on your Youtube channel with a Tik Tok link!

Perhaps I can upload it to the community project? Edit: Booh, they only want vocals, not instrumental parts. I suppose I'd have to learn how to tame the IntelliVoice in that case. Zendocon
As a kid, I enjoyed the song "Fifteen Miles on the Erie Canal". Maybe that will go viral soon as well.
carlsson
This song had a little renaissance a few years ago, but I wouldn't mind it going full viral. I'll leave translating the lyrics as an exercise. (No, it definitely is not a sea shanty) Edited February 10, 2021 by carlsson
Intelligentleman
This is awesome. The house I grew up in was built in 1879 and is on our National Register of Historical Places. So this music might have been part of the zeitgeist at that time. If remotely.
