Super-Genius!
I need a couple of 7800's WITHOUT the expansion port. I am willing to pay $100.00 for one if you have one! Let me know. Also, I need an Atari 7800 with a "Copyright 1991" on the circuit board, NOT 1984. I am willing to pay $150.00 for one of those! Let me know....If you have any questions, just email me or post to this thread. Mark
+Mitch
Hmm, I should dig around for my spare 7800's, I could make a killing. Do they need to work? By the way, the 1991 boards were only sold in PAL format. Though they can be modified to NTSC. Mitch

+Mitch
Mitch, how is this mod done??? Hmm, I thought I had posted about this before but I couldn't find it in a quick search. Anyway, what you need to do is diasble all of the PAL jumpers and enable all of the NTSC jumpers. (5 PAL and 4 NTSC, if memory serves me right) Then swap out the PAL TIA and Maria chips for their NTSC conterparts. If you are hooking it up to a PAL TV then you're done. If you're hooking it up to an NTSC TV then you will also want to swap out the inductor at L5 (I think, can't find my notes) with a 1.8uH inductor. This is to fix the sound to work with an NTSC TV. You can swap out the RF modulator as well, if you want, but you don't really need to. Mitch

omne
OK, I have two broken boards without the port. One has a destroyed cart slot and missing controller IC. The other has a bad RF out, and is also missing it's controller port IC. I have one working spare Atari 7800, that I have not opened up, but it lacks an exterior expansion port slot. It has the "large" serial number, so it's a later version. (my personal 7800 is an early version, with small serial, exp. port, and full compatibility with Supercharger, Robot Tank, etc. it is not up for sale at any price ) Pm me for specifics. I'm not sure these broken boards are useful for much at all, but I don't know what you plan to do. I was planning on Ebaying this working spare 7800 with controllers, AC adapter, and dupe 7800/2600 games come Fall, and would kinda still like to.
