I have a question for you, has the HALT signal on the cartridge connector ever been used? I have not found such information on the Internet.

"...Rikki & Vikki is the first software which uses the HALTn pin to discern between Sally and Maria's fetches, a solid connection with this pin must be made for the game to run correctly..."

According to him anyway.

Dude, he used it and sold it to the masses with great success. Perhaps it could have been used privately as far back as the 80's by other programmers but nobody will ever know or care cause it wasn't brought to the world. As far as what has been put out for everyone to play with, he sure is the the first to offer software using that method. I'm very happy he did too. R&V is top shelf 7800 software.

No, Atari did, take a peek at the 7800 devkit, that's where I got it from, eons ago.

Biff still invented internet video though.

Yep it sure was. Was it used in a manor to be consumed by the masses and\or the player userbase in any way? Nope!  You wouldn't have to specifically say "it was mentioned in the devkit" if it was a thing. The dude deserves the credit for being the first to use it in the way he did.

EDIT: That was why my original post said it could have been used privately back in the 80's. It being in the devkit as you mentioned just further makes my point.
