pmgraphics
With the help of Photoshop in a second monitor and Altirra, after 36 years I finally finished Gemstone Warrior. ? My map begins with already having 4 pieces of the gemstone.
Wrathchild
Maybe wrap the map in a spoiler tag?

Spoiler if you select Yes you re-enter the dungeon at the starting point (not sure if it ups the complexity or keeps it at the same level you first played). If you select No you are sent to the high score list.

It's too small to make any real sense of it unless you expand it... and if you haven't figured out what you're doing by that point, you can just close it down. So unless someone is REALLY stupid about what they are clicking AND has a photographic memory to the point the map will be instantly committed to their memory with no way of forgetting it, I think it's safe enough.
Tillek
Hell... at my age I've already forgotten what I was posting about or why I was posting it. Who are you and why is your name on my screen? 1

+Cafeman
3 year bump. I've been researching Atari 8bit graphics modes and title screens, in various games like this one. Does anyone know what Antic graphics mode Gemstone Warriors uses? Due to the resolution and use of colors, I'd guess Antic E for the whole screen - gameplay and the letters/text. I couldn't find an XEX or ATR of it, to try it in Altirra and look at the DLIST myself.
leech
Now for Gemstone Healer to get ported so you can beat that in another 36 years?

+Cafeman
Got the ATR. It is indeed using ANTIC E. The devs have created a software-driven ANTIC E based character set for the letters/words. The verbiage is tiny in high resolution but has multi-colors which the high-res ANTIC 2 charset mode doesn't allow.
