Level42
I figured it would be useful for current and future owners of the wonderful SIDE3 cartridge to know which SD card to get to use it trouble free. Mazzspeed
Both these cards work perfectly. Original Atari or new (switching Power Supply): 2A USB PSU 74F08 installed ? No idea. This card did not work correctly. If your SIDE3 is playing up on two separate machines using their own power supplies - I think you need to get in touch with the vendor you bought the device off, as at least one of the cards you bought should work. Just tried to find a music file on AA but couldn't. It’s a bit hidden because of it’s not very descriptive title but here is a thread about an online tool you can use to convert music files to PDM and many have posted some tunes there which you can download and try. SIDE3 has a built-in player (thanks to FJC), no extra software necessary, it recognises the files by its extension. Trying to run these files is a good test for older/slower cards. The data is read rather “bluntly” (if I may say so) and “in real time”, so not like opening a CAR, BIN, ATR or XEX file. This yields different results, slow, old SD cards can’t seem to keep up with providing the data, the result is a frozen screen and no or static noise. More modern ones play the files fine. Big thanks for everyone who took the time to provide their data, much appreciated…. Edited July 26, 2021 by Level42

Level42
PDM files are music files you can run straight from the SIDE3 loader. I have attached one here. Please download it, unzip and copy to your SD card. Then put the SD card in SIDE3 and simply launch the file just like you would launch a game from the loader. you should hear the music and see the waves on the screen if it works OK. If not, you’ll likely just get a bluescreen. 01. +DrVenkman
So I tested both these microSD cards tonight in my SIDE3. I tried several different PDM files - the last three posted tonight in the FujiConvert thread, plus two I made myself from WAV files using the recommended "flashjazzcat" preset, plus NTSC and Mono. Of the files I tested, only this one plays, and only from the SandDisk card, not the Samsung, despite them ostensibly being the same class of card.
