glurk
Ok, I need some help, please!! I find myself needing various floppy cables for vintage systems. Some for Atari and TRS-80 Percom drives, some inside the TRS-80, some inside the drives, some external ones, etc. etc. And I have no problem with making them myself, to the exact lengths, specs, etc... I can do all that. What I need is the 34-pin ribbon cable, maybe 20 feet or so, and the IDC connectors, both card-edge and "new-style", maybe 10 of each. I'll have to figure out the quantities etc, no problem. The problem is where can I order this stuff? I looked at Digikey, and they want ten thousand details on cable gauge, cable pitch, etc, etc etc, etc... For gosh sake, I just want standard floppy ribbon cable and standard card edge and IDC connectors. So -- can someone please help me out with the part numbers, or a good supplier where I can buy this stuff, hopefully affordably. It's overwhelming trying to look up so many precise details... glurk
Well, yes. That helps with the bulk cable, so thanks. But if they have the card-edge connectors, I can't find them. Ideally, I'd like to place one order and get everything I need at once, to save on shipping costs, etc.
+OLD CS1
How about this? https://iec.net/product/28-gauge-05-inch-pitch-ribbon-cable/ https://iec.net/product/card-edge-female-connector/ 1
glurk
Okay! Thank you, it looks like they have everything. And good prices, too. You've made my life a lot simpler, because all my progress was stalled on what I'm doing until I can make up some working cables. I have specific needs on cable lengths and etc., so generic cables would never have worked. Thanks for the help!
+OLD CS1
@glurk Glad to help. I have purchased items from them before, too, so I make the recommendation without reservation.
