Shawn
Hey All, Anyone have any idea why Off The Wall would fail to run properly when the file is doubled up to 32k instead of 16k but still being ran with F6 bankswitching? It runs fine in it's native 16k size but as soon as it's doubled up to fill a 32k chip it goes whacky. Almost all programs don't mind being doubled up to fill extra space from my experience but there are the odd exceptions. It even does this in Stella via emulation. Same thing happens when quadrupled to fill 64k but still ran with F6 banking. Does the program point at something that makes it mad when at this larger file size? I ask as I have a friend who made a hack of the game and I was putting it onto a real cart for him but I only have 32k and 64k chips on hand. Doesn't matter if I ground the extra address lines either. Same problem. Hope this is something simple that I'm just overlooking. Thanks, Shawn
+stephena
This ROM is actually F6SC (F6 + Superchip RAM). If I double the ROM and use '-bs F6SC', it works fine. But if using '-bs F6', it screws up the same way as the 16KB version.
