+davidcalgary29
All right...this may be a stupid request, but would it be possible to create a CD bypass cart that has memory-storage functions in it? There's a lot of great new games coming out on CD, and it's quite a shame that -- for now -- we won't be able to save games in progress. How about it? Matthias
Hello, yes of course, a cartridge containing a CD-Bypass and a MemoryTrack-functionality could be done. In fact, it has been done. But such cards aren't available for purchase till now. An aspect you shouldn't oversee is, that CD-games created for the current generation of CD-Bypass-cards (which offer "only" a big serial E2prom to provide save-game-space for several games) will most often not contain the necessary functions to detect and to use a MemoryTrack-compatible device presented by new generations of CD-Bypass cards. Regards Matthias PS: Just to make it more clear: New CD-games could save to the serial E2proms of the B&C CD-Bypass-card, BSGold or ProtectorSE, but only if they are designed to do it. And i mean that several games could share the serial E2prom.

I know what you mean since you explained the German translation to me, but the English interpretation of "till now" means "false before this moment, but true after this moment". I think the question pertains to a Bypass with MemoryTrak compatibility. None of the current bypass schemes support this. The only items that support this are a hacked MemoryTrak Hybrid from ages ago, and some in hardware in development.
