Willow...Ghouls and Ghosts hard w/o ANY of the charm!

I guess when you decide to review EVERY CPS game it means you have to play the ones you don't love too...does anyone actually enjoy Willow?!

Oddly enough this is one of the few arcade games I've beaten, albeit in MAME, well over a decade ago. I remember having to replay the final battle a ton of times before I got the win, but I don't remember having too much difficulty with the preceding levels at all. It's certainly a very pretty game!

For the longest time I had the arcade flyer for this game I inherited from my operator buddy. Huge fan of the CPS1 games. I never saw Willow on location bitd. I'm assuming it didn't sell well due to the movie's lackluster earnings - I do love the movie.

 

I didn't play Willow till that Callus(?) emulator (if you recall that one) in the late 90's. Still think it's an awesome entry in the CPS catalog... wish it wasn't on the rare side.
