Sonaru
Is there anyway to backup save game data such as high scores to a computer? Before I decide to purchase a SaveKey, I just wanted to check if I can backup my data so that I can transfer my saves to an emulator if I'm ever traveling and not at home. It would also be great to backup my saves for data preservation. I'd love to have a micro SD port or a micro USB port on the SaveKey to make it easier to connect to a computer. Thank you for your help!
Thomas Jentzsch
Yes, you can do so, but it is not very simple. You need a 2600-dapter, flashed for the SaveKey and a program which dumps the contents to your hard drive. Finally you have to convert the dump so that e.g. Stella understands it. And if you already have save high scores with Stella, you have to manually merge the two files. Else the Stella high scores would be lost. Sonaru
Can you tell me the list of things I'd need to buy and the flash program I need? I'd like to have a way to backup the SaveKey before I purchase one. Thank you.
Thomas Jentzsch
Sorry, but I only know this in theory. But I know other people have successfully done this, maybe they can help you here. Also you can try to search the forums.
