wesofthedead
I bought this cart from a seller and they seemed genuine but I wanted to make sure if it is real and this is the best place to check.

Crazy Climber
Looks real, no obvious signs it's fake at least. I mean if people are making fakes that good it's going to get ugly out there. (Long story short I think it's real)
Cebus Capucinis
Short story long, I have drafted the following 17 page white paper explaining in great detail why it's real. 3

ctelkin19
For comparison, here's my copy. The labels are certainly massacred, this much I know! Guess the label is supposed to be red & not white LOL

roadrunner
I think most if not all the TCM fakes use a atari cart shell. Edit - forgot about the double enders of TCM people make. Mik's Arcade
I read this off Wikipedia just a couple of weeks ago regarding Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre on the Atari Like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Wizard's other offering, Halloween was a controversial title at the time due to its violent content and subject matter. Many game retailers refused to carry the game and the ones who did often kept it behind the counter on a request-only basis. Halloween, along with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, drove Wizard Video Games to bankruptcy.[citation needed] While Wizard Video Games were liquidating its merchandise, some copies of the game were shipped and sold without a label, or with a simple white sticker with "HALLOWEEN" hand-written on it to cut costs. This led to even more stores rejecting the game due to its appearance. Wizard Video's other commercial release, Halloween, had a slightly better reception than their The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,[8] however, the limited number of copies sold has made both games highly valued items among Atari collectors.[9]

video game addict
Probably and old hozer copy that got trashed! If it plays keep and enjoy. Perhaps remove the labels, clean, and reprint nice new ones.

I'm confident that is an original cart (and it does appear to be in the correct shell), but looks like the cart was obviously not well taken care of. it appears the cart was exposed to the elements (water, sun). Impressive if the game actually works. ..Al
video game addict
It is the correct shell, I didn’t look too closely, probably just a weathered warrior then.

Mrshoujo
I bought Texas Chainsaw Massacre for the 2600 around 1986 at a store in Columbus Ohio called Video Express, with instructions. I think the box was long gone. My cart looks like your pristine red label cart. Edited December 13, 2021 by Mrshoujo Forgot a word
