thegenerallee86
I have an IBM 300PL 6862 currently with a Pentium III 550Mhz and would like to find the max CPU I can install on it? I am looking to get as close 1000Mhz as I can and know there was a post on a Google search that I found somewhere but am having trouble finding it again that said exactly what PIII 1000Mhz should work with this Vintage computer. 3DFXgamer
I own a 300pl and I did attemp to swap cpus with a 1ghz coppermine. The problem is that the computer doesn't support 133 mhz FSB speeds so anything above 100 mhz won't work. Also there is a diagram that shows the dip switch settings for the supported cpus and 550 mhz is max.
