Silver Back
So I sat up a tiny corner of my tiny house for my games finally. I did have my 7800 hooked to my hdtv and some other stuff in storage boxes, but I decided to make something more ideal for playing my old games. First picture is of my little fold out gaming tv with my Atari 7800 sign. I’m still working out how I want to place things. Behind the fold out speakers are several books and magazines, including art of Atari, the retro gamer magazine that featured the 7800, issue 3 of the atarian, Atari Jaguar official gamers guide, an Atari Jaguar sales brochure, and Atari 2600/7800 a visual compendium. Next is the underside of that shelf with a heroes/villains of the 7800 poster covering the bins. You can see my childhood 7800, an Atari Jaguar, then hiding under the bins is my Sony PlayStation and hidden in the corner is the retro trio I believe. There’s also some close ups of the consoles. In the bins behind the poster I have my evercade games and my Nintendo switch lite. My evercade itself sits in there sometimes but mostly I keep it close to the bed. I really like that thing. Below that bin is my loose Atari Jaguar games with the reproduction end labels. Off to the side where you can’t see I have my boxed Jaguar games and ps1 discs, nes, snes and genesis cartridges. In my spinning media shelf in the other corner I have my boxed atari 7800 collection. I also have some of my 2600 games. Some of those were my childhood games. Definitely my favorite part of my collection. Then I have my lose atari 2600 games in cassette holders mounted to the wall next to the tv. That's it for now. Like I said a lot of this was in boxes and storage until a bit ago like the PlayStation and Jaguar. I got the 7800 back out a few months into the pandemic and I didn’t realize how much I missed it until I had time for it again. I wanted to have a place where myself and the kids could actually enjoy it because I was having to much fun to put it away again. I’ll show it off again after I get it cleaned up and organized a bit more. Hopefully somebody got something from seeing it lol. 2 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/328327-silver-backs-games-corner/ Share on other sites

RJ
"Fold-out gaming TV" = Samsung GXTV I bought one of those off the store shelf for $300 BITD. 13" screen but had a ton of connection jacks & special sound settings. Yeah I picked it up really cheap a while ago and didn’t know much about it. It does have a lot of different settings not only for sound but for games in general. And it’s a loud little tv too. Can’t say I know a whole lot about it beyond that but I really love it to play games on. RJ
Yeah Samsung marketed it to gamers in the 90s & the woofer is along the top back. The manual shows a bald chick & the slogan is "Play It Wide Open" or something like that. I remember the 2 special audio settings were WarZone & something like Arena or Race Track. My wife made me get rid of mine yrs ago cuz I had it stored away & I'm not allowed to save anything cool but she can keep crap like old fucking grade school homework Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/328327-silver-backs-games-corner/#findComment-4966378 Share on other sites

I had to pair down my stuff quite a bit but she can keep the bedroom a cluttered mess! If she wasn’t such an amazing mother I’d be more inclined to argue but I’ve found a happy medium. Silver Back
Well I finally got some nice shelves and a TV stand etc for my games corner. Looks a little nicer I think. And a few close ups of how much nicer it looks. That wire mesh cart was awful for storing stuff but now I have nice press board sauder stuff lol since we all gauge our self value on what others think, let me know if this is an improvement. I'm joking but I really like my corner of the house now. 3 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/328327-silver-backs-games-corner/#findComment-5150534 Share on other sites
Keatah
Wire-mesh stands are strictly utilitarian. With no aesthetics whatsoever. Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/328327-silver-backs-games-corner/#findComment-5168012 Share on other sites
