Zoyous Posted December 23, 2021 Share Posted December 23, 2021 The original Asteroids Deluxe upright cabinet has a clever use of a half-silvered mirror which reflects the monitor image and makes it appear to be "floating" in front of the painted backdrop image. (A similar technique was done with some other games, as well... I want to say Omega Race and maybe Space Invaders?) MAME displays Asteroids Deluxe mirrored already so the text doesn't display backwards and the controls make sense. But I've begun thinking about building a replica Asteroids Deluxe cabinet, and I was wondering... how can I get MAME to display the image in reverse so that it will look correct in the mirror's reflection? I looked around through the video options in MAME 0.200 and didn't see anything in there to toggle it. Maybe there's a command line setting? Does anybody know?
