tailGator
Are there any rarity differences between the 2-color (b&w with maybe one additional color) and 4-color (full color) versions of the standard Activision labels? I've noticed that I have these two versions for Barnstorming. It seems that the 2-color were for earlier Activision releases. I've not seen this difference in the standard label documented anywhere. Brad2600
Do you have any pictures to describe what you are talking about?
Christophero Sly
I think he's talking about how certain Activision carts use a reduced number of colors in the screenshot that appears on the main label. Usually the screenshot background is white instead of color. I've noticed it on Grand Prix or Freeway, I can't remember which, I don't collect these variants. AFAIK, these variants are covered in the Giant List of Label Variants in the 2600 archives here on AA.
Room 34
I had just assumed that the first few Activision games only had the reduced-color style and then they started making them full-color. I know my Dragster and Freeway have the reduced-color labels. I haven't really paid enough attention to notice it on any others.
Brad2600
I've never even thought of searching for variations. Interesting though. I like certain label variations but due to space limitations, I can't collect them all.
