jguff
Is there any chance we can move the programming board to an upvote/downvote system like stackoverflow? That way responses from newbies whom don't have any idea what they are talking about (but act like experts anyways) can be downvoted to the bottom of the thread/question. Just an idea, Bob Edited January 25, 2022 by jguff
Ericde45
as a newbie, i would say that on a dead console, everyone willing to code anything shall be warmly welcome. when the community is elitist, things tend to get thiner and thiner, and then nobody is doing anything, missing new blood. It sounds like a complex solution to a problem which can be solved by just ignoring a few specific posters. You can also ready "vote" (sort of) by using the and reactions. 4 hours ago, Ericde45 said: as a newbie, i would say that on a dead console, everyone willing to code anything shall be warmly welcome. That's the point. There's no problem with people who are actually willing to code. There is, however, a problem with some people who never coded anything but keep posting nonsense in technical discussions. 42bs
It is one thing to ask questions about this and that or undermine some theories with code. Another thing is to flood the forum with wild thought which have no real background.
dilinger
I know it is probably out of topic, but to have a common/unique developer site (a wiki by example) would be useful too. There are a lot of information here and there (docs, sources codes, discussions, tools) in forums, and another websites but it forces people to gather the stuff for themselves. To have a such site would be useful for the new comers but it will require significant efforts from the community in a whole and also a united community too.
