Beeblebrox
The added bonus of course of having upgraded RAM in 2022 as opposed to the 80s and 90s is that we now have high storage capacity, very fast SIO speeds to load the data into the upgraded RAM very quickly. (I remember running the excellent Numen demo from floppy disks 20 years ago and waiting a considerable amount of time for it to load into memory. Same goes for images, etc. SIO2PC, SIDE3, AVG, and others mean you can really take advantage of it. My 23k Rastaconverter images load from my Side3's SDcard in 1-2 seconds! I can load all multiple disks of the Brundles into memory. As mentioned the scope for 3D raycasting games or graphic adventure titles going forward is huge. Anyways not wanting to futher hijack this thread. Great time to be on the A8 scene with these wonderful machines and amazing coders/hardware geniuses. I think you should go ahead and use 128k. There's plenty of options to upgrade, and nearly everyone has +RAM or, if not, there's always altirra. I know you are probably thinking along the lines of a re-usable sprite library for 8Bit Unity, but you could have a 128k version (fast) and a 64k version(slow). Use this game to develop the fast one, and then see if there is really a need for a 64k version.
