Just bought a bunch of tools to work on all of my Vintage computers

Recommended Posts

I just bought a whole bunch of tools to work on my Vintage Computers and Game consoles:

  • Yihua 8786-I 2 in 1 Heat Gun and Soldering station
  • AstroAI M6KOR Multimeter
  • AstroAI MUS10KRD Multimeter
  • Rigol DS1202Z-E 200Mhz 2CH Oscilloscope

I chose the 200Mhz Oscilloscope because I want to be able to work on Pentium 4 Computers or newer as well hopefully it'll be good enough.

These are the main computers I will be using it on and they are the ones I have:

  • Zenith 386 Workstation
  • IBM PC Series 350 P75
  • IBM 300 PL Pentium III 550Mhz
  • IBM 8303 NUE Pentium 4 2.66Ghz
  • Commodore VIC 20
  • Commodore 64
  • Commodore 128
  • Atari 800XL
  • Atari 520STF
  • Atari 1040STF
  • Emachines T1090 Celeron 900Mhz
  • Macintosh Classic
  • Macintosh Classic II

and also will be using it on the peripherals I have for them the Disk Drives:

  • Commodore 1541
  • Commodore 1541-II
  • Commodore 1571
  • Commodore C2N Cassette Drive
  • Commodore 1702 Monitor
  • Commodore 1902 Monitor

and My Game consoles I will also be using them on as well if any problems arise on any of my stuff:

  • Atari 2600
  • Atari 5200
  • Atari 7800
  • NES
  • Sega Master System
  • Sega Genesis
  • Sega CD
  • Sega 32X
  • SNES
  • Sega Saturn
  • Nintendo 64
  • Playstation
  • Playstation 2
  • Gamecube
  • Dreamcast Xbox
  • Sega Nomad

I'm hoping this will be enough to hopefully repair any problem that may arise as they are all over 20yrs old now

These are my main tools, vintage stuff for vintage stuff! I remember back in the day having gotten these because they looked cool. And was more interested in making the meter move and the display change numbers than understanding anything or doing anything useful. But I would learn in time!

I would but I prefer new tools to fix older stuff because I don't trust older tools on my vintage stuff and prefer something that I can rely on with more features.
