Happy_Dude
I remember an old shareware game I got from a magazine cover disc. It was a space shooter/stratergy game and I spent hours on it. The idea was simple, you where a ship with a home base that had automated defenses, you had a spinning platform that was your launch pad and you had to go to other worlds and land on them to claim them. then your home world would dispach a transport to colonise and erect defenses. during transit another ship could steal that planet or your home planet or shoot down your transporter, so you had to defend your claim (or attack the other ships home bases) to expand your empire. it looked like a vector game just like Gravitar but the thrust was VERY sensitive and it was extreamly hard to land on a planet. it was a top down veiw so the planets where circles .... Anyone know what it's called or where I could find it ...

Happy_Dude
Magazine cover disc? Any idea what system it was for? I thought "shareware" would have given it away IBM PC. @Scooterb23, That sounds like it. Actually I think that is it

Chris++
"Shareware" was also a term applied to C-64 and Atari 800 games (remember "Haunted Hill"? PHEWWW!).
