Unbeliever
Just wondering...since entering the world of emulation, and in particular gaming on a "simulated" Genesis/Megadrive console, it seems I'm really enjoying playing the Streets of Rage series. When I first ran across this game and had an original model 1 Genesis, I avoided this game as I didn't enjoy "fighting" games. However, now that it's about 20 years later (or so), I'm finding that I absolutely LOVE this series. I played a great session of SoR II this morning and topped 120,000 points in my first go around with the game. Anyone else playing this series today? The music in particular is pretty stellar from area to area as you go along.
+Cafeman
Yes. I've seen several SOR Twitch streams recently, which made me want to replay SOR 1, 2, and 4. Great series. In replaying, I found I enjoyed SOR1 more than I remembered.
+jeremiahjt
I have had a Genesis since 1991 and I have never played a Streets of Rage game on it outside of testing my copy of Streets of Rage 2 when I bought it. Small caveat, I have played the first Streets of Rage found on the Sega Classics Arcade Collection for the Sega CD a little bit. I am not a huge beat 'em up fan, but I have played plenty over the years. For some reason I just never tried to get into any of the 16-bit games. Unless you count the single plane games like Altered Beast and Splatterhouse. I should really give the series a go and see what all the fuss is about.
