kinmami
It does replace the original DIN-7 connector. It comes with a polymeric fuse (hold 1.25A, trip 2.5A with the intervention time <400ms), TVS diode (clamping voltage <5.6V) and noise filter for complete protection and safeguard of your motherboard. Able to provide up to 5V / 3A (15W) thru the USB type C cable. The stock PSU from Atari was 5V / 1.5A (7.5W) but hadn't any Over Current, Over Voltage, or Short Circuit protection. project

koolmoecraig
I'm sure there is a market to sell these if they were pre-built.
MrMaddog
Wouldn't it just be easier to buy one of these cables instead of hacking up the power port? https://www.8bitclassics.com/product/atari-xl-xe-usb-power-cable/ If you need to plug in a power source with a USB-C port, there's always adapters... Bee
In my case I was looking at potability when I proposed this on the Nuc+576. The point is USBc will become more prevalent going forward and I was trying to reduce vertical space. Thank you

In fact the EU now wants all smartphones & other recharagable devices (including Apple products) to use USB-C by 2024. That's why I got some microUSB to USB-C adapters for my existing devices...
