Atari_Bill
Hey all, Looking through pics online recently and came across something I’ve never seen before. It appears to be the original paddles for the 2600 sold separately. I’ve seen the paddles before obviously and I’ve seen the typical box they came in. Does anyone have this box? I’d love to find one. It matches the very early slip covers that were on the very first releases.
+groundtrooper
I have never seen one in the yellow packaging, just the traditional pack-in white generic box and the 8 Bit Computer packaging that everyone is also familiar with.
Leonard Smith
Looks like someone else came across the yellow box variant back in 2019, but I don't see the hanger/slip cover on this one: Atari 2600 tennis paddle box variant? - Atari 2600 - AtariAge Forums

I tried searching various terms but couldn’t find anything. They do exist then. Very interesting. I don’t think there’s a slip cover on these boxes. It’s just a hang tag flap and you probably can’t see it in this pic. Edited July 25, 2022 by Atari_Bill
Atari_Bill
I was curious about this paddle box because I came across the Sears equivalent which I had never seen before either. How many have a copy of this with the hang tab and original controller pics?
Ballblaɀer
I have the Sears set. Definitely don't see it around much.

That was what I was thinking about these as well. I figured that others had to have them. I did see them on a post by the 5th Ghost in his collection as well. They certainly seem to be fairly rare. I believe these are the first I’ve come across.
