adamcon
I "know" that I have this information somewhere, and I am sure it is probably here on AtariAge somewhere.........but...I can't find it. Someone help me out please on who made the ADAM data drives, the differences, and order of manufacture in the scheme of ADAM things. THANKS
NIAD
We are getting old! Ill have to search up the answer as well !!! I do recall there are 3 variations and 2 of those were made by JVC and are referred to as OLD and NEW style JVC. Wasn’t the other manufacturer TEAC? The original drive used a spring positioned at the top/middle where the DDP inserts. This was replaced by a clip to secure the DDP better. The original drive also had the speed adjustment screw on the bottom instead of on top like the later versions had for easier access. Last I recall is the read/write head went thru some improvements in the later or last version. Just might have to read thru some chapters in The ADAM Survival Guide… I recall that Phil covered everything in there.

I did replace read/write heads a few times and didn't know that fact - I just thought they were week heads Go figure..... THANKS
