This is a new set of routines I am working on for future game/s

 

I ask anyone who wants to to run this and send me a brief description of any bugs.
I know there are several that need to be honed especially the offsets.

 

Jumping is with either fire button, up down left and right.

 

As always, 100% Z80 Assembly Language.

 

Opinions, bugs, suggestions, thoughts, limericks, ponders, feedback....leave here or pm.

if you hold the jump button you can jump on the way down and essentially fly back up a bit though you eventually go down.

If you hold the directional button and while holding it, pressing up near a ladder, you stop instead of go up the ladder.

You can stand over the pit and not fall down, only portions near the center of the pit make you fall.

Neat, this reminds me of Jump man.

If you hold down and press jump a bunch of times you can sink through the floor.  You can also run in the air once you do that.

If I can work the kinks out then you never know, a sequel may be in the works but I have solid plans right now.
I still am working out the object routines so I can continue my work on Warlords and Haunted House but this little platformer test is part of a larger picture.
I am developing all of these shells in order to put a library together and release games by joining compatible routines with minimum effort.
 

So far I have a great vertical scroll routine.

Some progress with objects.

Patterns and sprites are no problem.

This platform is just the latest.
If I can master sound that would be the schnizle.
