Pab
At the risk of being known as the guy who doesn't recognize his mods.... Picked up a 1050 on eBay with a "N/H" switch on the front, which the seller claimed to not know about. (I gather it was something sitting in some relative's attic that fell into his hands and he didn't know from Atari.) The "N/H" labels led me to believe it might be a Happy 1050 using the normal/high speed switch addition. But it doesn't look like the Happys I remember. Manufacturing date is June 28, 1988. Main chip appears to be an AMD EPROM, there's a 6502B and a bunch of other chips. Looks like additional switches or other paraphernalia could also have been wired to the board. No manufacturer on this side of the board. I'm hesitant to unplug it and check the other side. What manner of beast is this one.
TGB1718
There are a few "Happy" clones, it looks like one of those
+kheller2
Happy clone... switch is for swapping between onboard 1050 OS and happy OS. There are a few with regards to this specific board, here is one of the latest ones: As always, if you can take a pic of the bottom of the board that would help those of use trying to get a few of these boards working.
