atari TT fast ram upgrades

Recommended Posts

Mickey,

A newer RAM upgrade would be faster and more reliable than the older models (some of which can only go up to 128Mb).  I ordered a Storm board last year directly from Team Thunderstorm (I will message you with the e-mail address) and it bought my RAM up to 260Mb (256Mb Fast RAM + 4Mb ST RAM).  You can use either 60ns or 50ns EDO RAM in the upgrade but since there is barely a speed difference, I opted for two cheaper 128Mb 60ns sticks.  Some photos are below of the installed unit (took a minute into install and worked perfectly) along with some RAM speed tests.

Cheers,

Stephen

Is the Storm the best way to go?  if so, where do I buy one.  I am considering it or just a standard atari one.

thanks for any help?

get the latest storm.. If you install a speedy TT it will speed it up even more.. the ram will not be tied own by the 16mhz bus as all others that I know of..  I'd be willing to sell my original ATARI upgrade once I find it.. Its stored away someplace in my closet.
