Nintendo shafted a contractor who was making arcade games for them.  Slowly yanking both the production and eventually the code itself.  Lawsuits ensued.

So this was a mindless re-run coin baiting video with information that has been disseminated and reviewed, covered, and beaten to death for at least 10-20 years online.  Thank Austin for demanding the tldr on this, no reason to watch a re-run for the 100th time.

That Photoshop job on the DK machine was obviously done by someone who has no idea what an actual DK machine is like, nor what an arcade machine in general is like, for that matter. I've yet to see any arcade machine that displays the video right on the front glass. In reality it looks like this:

They’re built like that so you can’t hammer a large quartz crystal through the crt using your bare hands like my 5 year old brother once did to a computer monitor in the 90s after he died one too many times on Doom or something. Don’t ask why a 5 year old was playing Doom…
