Lord_of_Sipan
Just got a Super Cassette Vision. It seems to have the same dimensions and center negative polarity for the DC input as the Famicom/Master System/Genesis 1/PC Engine/etc. but the OEM psu is 8.5v instead of 9v. I assume the OEM psu is unregulated and that the system isn't that picky about voltage and amperage in but I thought I would ask here to just to be sure. I use a Triad WSU090-1300-R to power my Famicom and PC Engine so that is what I would be using for this. On a slightly different but related note, does anyone who owns an original Cassette Vision know a good US power supply for that console? If I remember right it is 12v 500ma center negative. I may have a synthesizer power supply sitting around somewhere in a closet that puts that out but my instruments usually live in a different room of my house from my consoles. carlsson
I've used the same PSU for both Famicom and Super Cassette Vision without any obvious issues. I think the difference of 0.5V has no significance, in particular if it happens to be reduced to 5V inside the machine.
CatPix
French SCV uses a 9V power supply. From what I can tell from pictures (of the insides), both Japanese and French market machines are identical, save for the video output part. So you should be fine.
