Reciprocating Bill
I looking for an algorithm in assembly that plots "Pixels" from coordinates in multicolor mode. Before I reinvent the wheel, I'm wondering if other good inventors here have one to share. TI's table layout of this mode seems cruel and unusual.
ti99iuc
I don't know if this helps but here is a Multicolor program designerhttps://www.ti99iuc.it/web/index.php?pageid=database_cerca&archivioid=1002 here is the code in assembly: https://www.ti99iuc.it/web/sfoglia/?cid=148&sub=sfogliabile5#book/15 Sorry but it was an Italian publisher in the 1980s, I hope it can help anyway. There is also this PLOT Routine otherwise, (it is from Programs for TI Home Computer - Book )https://www.ti99iuc.it/web/index.php?pageid=database_cerca&archivioid=378 But I don't think it's in multicolor mode anyway. Asmusr
There are more than one way to configure multicolor mode, see post #20: Edited October 25, 2022 by Asmusr
Asmusr
Is it just me or are there no longer any post numbers? How do you refer to a specific post?

The only way I see to de-obfuscate the post numbers is the click the "Share" option in the "..." menu.
matthew180
The post numbers, yes, they went away during the last migration / forum "upgrade". It was brought up in the feedback sub-forum, but apparently is not consider important enough to add back. Personally I liked having those links and post numbers, but I guess that is not considered "modern" any more; similar to places where you want to see a date but instead you get the words "today" or "yesterday" or "5 days ago", etc.. Not useful. As for the OP question, I'm sure there are some common routines out there, maybe. Look at the stuff Rasmus posted, since other than TI's DEMO cart, he is the only one who has ever used MCM mode. 😁 The main problem with MCM is you can't display regular tiles, i.e. text or shapes, other than with sprites. Your MCM "pixel" is essentially 4x4 native-pixels. Makes for a very early Atari 2600 kind of feel about things.

With some help from Google translate, looks like this will do the trick. The limitations of Multicolor mode notwithstanding, it's perfect for the application I have in mind - an implementation in assembly of Wa-Tor, the toroidal population dynamics simulation originally published in Scientific American's Computer Recreations column (December '84). I coded it in Pascal for the Mac back then, so it's a suitable exercise for one's second childhood.
ti99iuc
ah nice! I am happy for this and now you told Wa-Tor I am pretty sure to have seen something with this name for TI99 but I do not remember where and what it was... I will search a bit.
