For this device I think that with a properly configured driver you can expect 1Mb to 1.2Mb for reading and about half of that for writing (although memory is a bit hazy on the later)

Flashjazzcat has a couple of video's doing a head 2 head comparison

between an external US and the SD4ST device. Interestingly enough,

I've had the best results from Sandisk brand cards but...lots of good

Max speed you can get out of the ACSI port is 2Mb/s. Not much hardware available for that speed though.
