DPC+ is it possible to remove the score and have an additional row for graphics?

I don't need the score therefore I have an empty space on my DPC+ kernel.

Would it be possible to use this row for graphics?

 

Now I have 22 rows that are 8 scanlines high, I would like to have 23 rows.

I was wondering something similar for DPC+. I'd like to put some multicolored sprites down there for items the player finds in the game.
