Alpiner Speech Samples

Does anyone know of a source (or an easy way to generate) the Alpiner speech samples?

 

whtech has the parsec samples here: http://ftp.whtech.com/audio/Parsec Samples/MP3s/ 

 

Something similar in virtually any audio format (I'd be using Audacity to compress and write as 8-bit wav)?

You can use Audacity to "record what you hear".

it only requires stereo mix to be enabled to work.

Windows disabled this in newer OS by default, but it's easy to turn back on.

then record the game audio while using MAME etc.

maybe still a few missing as they are random while playing the game.

Easier: Use my SPEECODER tool. 🙂

(That is, if you trust the quality of the emulated speech synthesizer, otherwise you'll have to use the real machine.)

Select Editor/Assembler, option 5: DSK1.SPEECODER1 <Return>,

hold the spacebar during the load till the end to skip the copyright notice.

 

Use ESDX keys (not FCTN, but use uppercase) to navigate the menu.

 

Select "Decode", then "GROM". For address, enter "1A042" (i.e. A042 with a 1 added on the left). You should hear "PRESS ANY KEY TO GO ON".

The addresses are GROM locations, the 1 is used to select bank 1 of the GROM space.

You get the most-awesome award today!  This is exactly what I needed - though I do appreciate learning how to fish as well so I'll try to get MAME setup with Audacity recording... but for now, this is more than enough to get me rolling on my project!
