Odd 2600 Video Issue Post A/V Mod

I've got a 4-switch Rev 14 2600 that I just installed the vintagegamingandmore.com AV 2.0 mod and capacitor kit on (this is actually my original system from like 1982, lol.) Unfortunately I don't know what condition it was in before the mod because I don't have a TV that accepts RF input.

Basically now it's working, but there's some weirdness:

-If I hook it up via composite cables it looks like the TV tries to sync for a bit, then says no signal

-If I hook it up via a cheap Amazon composite-to-HDMI converter it works, but there's horizontal ghosting/blur to the right in all games. Color looks good, vertical looks sharp, and sound is perfect

I don't know if this is potentially an issue with the mod I did, or the TV, or if it's something else on the 2600 board.

I've got the service manual and I'm going to do some testing, but if anyone has seen this sort of thing before and has any specific pointers I'd appreciate them - thanks!
