andy_bernstein
Hello, I had started the topic below in the Programming section but nobody has replied. If anyone of you has an idea, it would be appreciated. AB. _______________ Hey Gang, So I'm going back to Basic (please take a look at my XC12 post in the market place if you can) and the only computers I have to program are a pair of XE systems + my Macintosh G4 (DP 1.25MHZ). Simple question. Most of the programming tools I've found tend to be PC only. Would you know of any XL / XE programming tools available for the MAC (OS9/OSX) ? Or at least something cross platform ? Thanks to all of you... zzzzzzzzz... AB.

Since I'm programming on the 5200, and the tools are DOS based (instead of Windows), I've thought about running a DOS command line emulator but I haven't tried it out yet. Running the tools on my G4 1Ghz DP in Virtual PC is just so slooowww.
andy_bernstein
Hi, Thanks for the opinions. Because my Mac is very fast, I'll go the emulator way then. It's too bad because I must admit the ATARI 800X emulator for MAC OS X really rocks and it would have been wonderful to do all the programming steps under one single OS. Later- AB. Wrathchild
Look into CC65 (www.cc65.org) The tools work on MACs and if you're familiar to makefile's etc then this is a fantastic way to program in combination with an emulator. I primarily use the assembler (CC65) in combination with the powerful linker (LD65) that allows control over segments and code relocation amongst others.
