I am having a issue with tapper for the 2600 using the stella emulator where the screen is jittering up and down rapidly. I have tried re downloading the rom and went through the settings and messed with it. I was wondering if any one else is having this issue or is it just me? If you know a possible fix please help thanks.

Sounds like what would happen if the game was coded incorrectly and the scanlines per frame is not steady.  That being said, I just ran Stella 6.3 and it loads Tapper without any jumping.

I am using Stella 6.7 but i dont think thats why its doing this. I think you are right about it being something to do with scanlines their is another topic i believe where someone was having a similar issue with Tapper though i think it was a physical cart and issue with the display. I am not a very knowledgeable person to the more technical aspects of this.

just tried stella 6.7 and it has jittering graphics in Tapper here.

other games seem ok.

my guess is, settings got broken during an update.

older versions 242-653 work perfectly with Tapper. 👍

From the developers:

That's Stella's jitter emulation. The game will not run stable on all CRTs.

You can reduced the sensitivity or disable it in Developer settings/Video/Jitter & Roll.

They marked the bug as closed.
