Will Anyone Make an Atari 2600 Toy Bizarre Homebrew?

With homebrewers making amazing Atari 2600 games these days, will someone eventually get around to making Toy Bizarre? Or would it have to be for the Atari 7800 since there are so many objects on the screen at the same time?

… this noise when turning off the wheels - great. I remember playing this on the C64 and i loved it - nice and unique platform game. Good idea - there was a WIP of Mario Brothers that comes close graphically.

One of my favourite games on the C64! I think it could be done on the 2600 with a little rearranging of the screen and given the magic that was done with Zoo Keeper. Given that I think this might be a better candidate for the 7800 due to the large number of enemies and objects that can accumulate on a horizontal line. Either way, YES PLEASE!

Depends on if you crave the gameplay or the branding.  Activision may still be an active, litigious company.

 

I could see similar gameplay with the multi sprite kernel in bB.  Maybe the things you have to turn off are shown one at a time to avoid flicker.

Toy Bizarre was announce for a number of systems for quite a while during the mid-Eighties but only the C64 version came out. It's possible that there are some prototypes out their waiting to be discovered.
