8bitwidgets.com
Hi everyone, this is the first show I've ever attended as a vendor and I just wanted to get the word out if anyone is around the greater Boston area to stop by Melrose VFW in Melrose, MA and say hi June 10th, 10am-5pm. Kids get in free. Adults $5 https://fb.me/e/14FySorVn At least 15 vendors will be there selling all kind of retro games and similar interest products. I'm bringing my Intellivision to have at my table along with 3 other classic consoles with a switchbox for my CRT for folks to try things out. I'll be featuring my Intellivision Controller Couplers among other products.

8bitwidgets.com
Hey good morning everyone! It was really good. Here are some pics. I wasn't able to bring the video game setup I wanted, but I was able to at least show off the Intellivision and Odyssey 2. I even got to show off one of @DZ-Jay's CD holders. I finished one of them, I need to get the characters on the second one next! It was great to show people, many who had never seen these systems in real life. The odyssey, not surprising was the more obscure of the two, but I was great to just let people try the various games and technology. People could definitely see the difference playing games with the coupler vs. without. Hopefully we'll see something like this happen again in another six months or so according to Jay, the guy who did it. Overall I think it was a complete success and hopefully the next one will be even better. @timdu you should get a table next time for sure with all the games you have published / are publishing in the future. Robot Ron went over well 3
timdu
OK - I will keep it in mind. Keep me posted on the next event in Boston. I would like to attend or have a table. I would like to see if @atari2600land is up for the challenge of porting ROBOT RON to the INTELLIVISION. Your INTELLIVISION controller coupler could be used and ROBOT RON could fire his blaster in 16 different directions with the Intellivision controller! If you are not familiar, @atari2600land programmed ROBOT RON for the Odyssey2 and it uses both controllers and can utilize Caleb's controller coupler for the Odyssey2. ROBOT RON was greatly inspired by Robotron 2084. More info at: https://timduarte.blogspot.com/2023/05/robot-ron-for-odyssey2.html

I learned about this like a few days ago, if thought about it I would have let you know too.. table was $40 + $15 if you wanted electricity. There was one other guy there doing homebrews of sorts. They were from what I followed, more like japanese imports he translated to english for various consoles. Not originals from scratch though there might have been some in there. 2 hours ago, timdu said: challenge of porting ROBOT RON to the INTELLIVISION. that would be awesome. I might need to do a slight revision to the intellivision coupler though if both discs were used exclusively because the general approach was that you're still gripping the main body of at least one of the two controllers. Would just need to factor in a little more back support of the lower areas of the controllers with future iterations. The best way to do it would simply be to support both the use of Disk 1 and Disk 2 AND support the number keys of the opposite disc to shoot (like Tron Deadly Discs) for those who have legacy couplers. 1980gamer
Might be a good idea to contact OPCODE for the next one. He is in the area and a big contributor to the Colecovision community.

8bitwidgets.com
I wish, but that's a heck of a distance from Boston. My income from this wouldn't be able to cover the cost of the trip. One day perhaps. Would be fun to visit Oregon State having never been there before. I hear there's something in Connecticut though that i might consider since i could just drive out there and back.. no hotel costs or food costs (bring a cooler)
