Jason_Atari
I have 2 broken proline controllers and am trying to make 1 out of 2. Does anyone know how to remove the joystick knob from the shaft, so i can totally disassemble it from the frame? It's so tight I'm assuming it might be pressed on or tightly glued. Any info would be appreciated, cheers 😀
+-^CrossBow^-
It is just press fit into place. To remove them in the past I would actually use a pair of vice grips to hold onto the shaft just above the white plastic arms section to minimize the visibility of the grip marks. But doing that I can hold onto the grips while twisting the knob off manually. Some come off easier than others but yeah...just press fit into the shaft. There is a indentation towards the tip of the shaft that helps lock it into the plastic but yeah just gotta pull. Â

+-^CrossBow^-
To put them back on I just get the knob started and then press straight down onto the knob onto a hard surface. (BTW you pretty much have to do the same thing with the 5200 controller sticks too). Â

+H454
I just use one these trim hooks (the one in middle I think). The plastic doesn't gouge / scratch anything. It's like using a claw hammer to pull a nail out of a board. I put some thick cardboard under the elbow and popped the knob right off.
