MARIA ECI does not interfere with the hardware like those mentioned, it is an external cart

...for those that fear that original 7800 Maria chips are sacrificed, I am quoting this from the 7800 forum:

Sounds like the Maria PBI/ECI would be a natural for a 1090 expansion card as it's already PBI, ECI compatible.  Can it do 80 columns?

As I like the Maria chip somehow (you know I programmed 2 demos for the 7800) but I would vote for a VIC2 emu instead 🤪😂

That's pretty impressive.  Is there a plan to provide this as an upgrade?  I know some people prefer not to develop things that might require the destruction of an existing console.
