The Secret Government Waffle Project 2: Awful Waffles!

In this thread, you will find the latest ROM of The Secret Government Waffle Project 2: Awful Waffles! It is a game where once again, Capt. Kellogg is dodging waffles being spat out by machines.

stuff I plan to add:

  • in-game music
  • the powerups (and downs)
  • waves with various lengths
  • more.

I value your comments and suggestions, so feel free to list them here as well.

Just curious, have you ever compiled a list of all of the physical releases that have been made of your games across all formats?  It must be quite an impressive list.

Here is another attempt.

The guy moves around all Mario-like.

The awful waffles aren't in the game quite yet. They will come from the sides. I had to make the guy first. And make him move. Next will come the waffles.

If anyone has any ideas on what I could put in here, let me know.

Could you make the game be similar to PIPE DOWN, your game for the Odyssey2.  That game was very similar to and payed homage to Nintendo's MARIO BROS.

 

So I guess I am asking... can you add an additional second player... similar to Luigi in the MARIO BROS. game?  So two players can play the game at the same time as an option.

 

I think you could have the awful waffles rolling from the sides. The waffles are being created by the waffle-making machine and it is going haywire in the factory... ejecting waffles.

 

They must be collected!  ( for points ) so you may also need a score display on the right for player 2.

 

As for enemies... let's see...

 

maybe there can be rats in the factory... and when they appear, they must be killed, or captured...  

 

just some thoughts...

I think the colors you had for the platforms ( the blues )  in version 2 "popped" more.  But perhaps you can bring the blue colors back in a different level.

I added a level intro and put in one waffle. The waffle isn't deadly yet, I'll work on adding that next. There is code in there for four different waffles though. What the level progression I'm planning is:

  • level 1 - one waffle, slow speed
  • level 2 - one waffle, medium speed
  • level 3 - one waffle, high speed
  • level 4 - 2 waffles, slow speed
  • level 5 - 2 waffles, medium speed
  • level 6 - 2 waffles, high speed
  • boss
  • level 7 - 3 waffle, slow speed
  • level 8 - 3 waffle, medium speed
  • level 9 - 3 waffle, high speed
  • level 10 - 4 waffles, slow speed
  • level 11 - 4 waffles, medium speed
  • level 12 - 4 waffles, high speed
  • boss

I don't know what other types of levels I could have, though. Any ideas appreciated. Perhaps point values for the butter goes up each level after level 12? I don't know.
