Macross_VF1 Posted August 3, 2023 Share Posted August 3, 2023 (edited) Yeah, as the title says, I need to know the size, or rather length, of the flat drive belt for the Hong Kong BPA7YJ Atari 1010 cassette deck. I know the width, it's about 2.8mm, but my belt is so old and stretchy that it has been lengthened quite a bit and is on the very verge of falling apart. I bought an assortment lot from Aliexpress and in that lot are the right belts (the 3mm lot): https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001308047721.html/ These lots are very cheap and contain multiple belts of the same size, so for just € 2.65 multiple 1010s can be repaired 🙂 Edited August 3, 2023 by Fred_M 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I found an audio specialist store that sell flat belts and I play my chances and got 2 of different size... Both worked quite good... I will find the info and paste it here... Nope There are 3 versions: 1010 Japan square belt 1010 Hong Kong square belt 1010 Hong Kong flat belt (only the "flywheel" belt is flat, other belts in this 1010 are square) All belts are generic ones and can be bought very cheaply on Aliexpress and other big electrical component suppliers. The webshops that are selling specific sets are making a lot of money on these And do know that the belts do not have to be the exact same size, a little more loose or tight is not a problem.
