Running Multiplan with TIPI on and no disk mapped

Dear community.

 

Something strange is happening to my system.

With my TIPI on my PEB up-and-running from the TI console I run Multiplan.

I get to the Multiplan startup screen, asking to insert the boot floppy, but I do not have any floppy in the PEB nor napped in TIPI.

I press <Enter> and Multiplan is running.

 

Please see my configuration below.

Any other module (like TI-Writer or E/A) that requires a floppy is not running, returning Error 06.

 

Any idea? Thanks in advance…

Real cart or fg99?

Probably a TIPI bug that lets DSK.MULTIPLAN. and other volume name based devices resolve against TIPI.<dirname>. even when no drive is mapped. 

 

Or whatever the multiplan volume name is...

Honestly I have to admit it’s cool… loading Multiplan with no disk 🕺🏼

Looks like this was intentional, I guess I thought it would be cool as well. I think I did this to make Stewart's TIML browser easier to work with.
