Adapting the Mockingboard 4C for DIP-package Mockingboard ICs

While I was gathering parts for my IIe (not IIc) I acquired an unassembled Mockingboard including all of the ICs. These are all of the DIP ICs, including two AY3s and two CIAs, but not the speech chips.

 

I've since acquired a IIc. The Mockingboard 4C uses at least one square package and one surface mount package, not the original parts.

 

The 4C board isn't really available at a reasonable price, or perhaps not even available at all, but I wondered if the design could be adapted to use the DIP ICs. Maybe I could make a new version.
