Mr SQL
I've been working on a Silly Venture 2023 demo and found a technique that can render 80 playfield pixels across. It's stable and works on all Atari 2600 classic consoles with a classic Tube Television or CRT Monitor with both NTSC and PAL. The method is not as versatile as the method created by @enthusi but is stable for creating detailed graphics with beautiful colors and doubles the color palette to 256 available colors on NTSC and 224 on PAL with no flicker. There's an example here you can try that is easier to see splitting 20 large tile pixels into 40, the technique splits playfield pixels the same way with 40 pixels morphing into 80. This method uses intentional Motion Blur with smooth scrolling to double the playfield pixels. See the upcoming demo in Gdansk at the Silly Venture Atari Art Party Winter Festival this December 2023! sillyventure - Start
